Entering Gringotts isn’t the issue, it’s getting out that will give you problems!
Head underneath the Dragon and into Gringott’s Bank if you dare! And going into the bank is part of the fun! While in line you’ll get to see goblins hard at work, and some might even speak to you! Then head further into the vaults and up a winding staircase to board your own train cart. This is a mutli-dimensional ride, which means not only will your cart move from room to room, but you’ll also be wearing 3-D glasses, putting you right into the action of the Harry Potter world! This is the only ride in Diagon Alley so make sure to give it a try.
Parent Worry Note: Located in cave-like caverns, this ride is dark, and you’ll be forced to escape not only the evil Voldemort, but also a fire-breathing dragon which may frighten younger ones. Those who are prone to motion-sickness may want to skip, as movements can be quick and sudden. If you don’t get on this ride first thing, prepare to wait in line!
Final Note: If you’re a Harry Potter fan, this is a must! Be warned, the ride tends to break down a lot, so be prepared for a tantrum or two…it might not be running. All bags will be forced to go in lockers, so make sure to get rid of your bag before getting in line. Lines get extremely long and Express Passes cannot be used, so make sure to get on this ride first thing in the morning, as soon as the park opens.
To be completely honest we were slightly disappointed with this ride, and found it to be one of our least favorite 3D rides at Universal. Or perhaps it was our two-hour wait because the ride had broken down that skewed our opinion. Even so, this ride is certainly worth going on at least once merely to experience the awesome queue line and the amazing Harry Potter world.
